Think About Stone Shape
The diamond's shape has a big impact on how you choose an engagement ring and wedding band.
Longer vertical stones, like oval-cut diamonds, marquis-cut diamonds and emerald-cut diamonds will need a bit more space on the finger than round cuts or princess cuts, for example.
Keep an Eye on Proportions

How to Choose the Right Wedding Band to Match Your Engagement Ring
Picking your Metal Colour
Most people will choose the same metal colour for their engagement ring and wedding ring to create a neat, matching look.
Many people tend to prefer one colour of metal for their everyday jewellery, and this often extends into their engagement ring and wedding ring preferences - If your partner usually prefers gold jewellery, a gold engagement ring will likely suit them better!
While it’s a popular aesthetic choice to match your metal colour, it’s also an important consideration regarding the longevity of your ring. Mixing metals means that when the rings rub against each other, they’re much more likely to sustain scratches, chips, or damage. Mixing gold with platinum is particularly dangerous, as the harder platinum will break down the softer gold, destroying it over time!
